The Trump Effect

Win, lose, or draw, Donald Trump has changed the political landscape. Maybe forever. Some say that Donald Trump is nothing more than a bull in a china shop. Others say he is just an egomaniac, out to enrich himself. But there is a growing number of people who look at Trump as a political iconoclast. One who is not a politician, who wants to go into the town where politicians rule, and then change the day. 

What Donald Trump does, is give us what I call the Trump Effect. It is the polar opposite of what we get from most politicians. Whereas many politicians weigh every word carefully to ensure every PC fiefdom is recognized and protected, Donald Trump uses a whole bunch of straight talk. Plus, Donald does not give a wit about PC anything. When John McCain was running for President, he would say he was on the "straight talk express". No offense Senator - your straight talk was nothing like Donald Trump's.

Here is Donald Trump's biggest obstacle right now (as I see it). Timing. Bud Grant, the historic coach of the Minnesota Vikings, had a saying. "It is not who you play, but when you play them". In other words, timing is everything. If voting day was the second Tuesday in December rather than the second Tuesday in November, I think Donald Trump would win hands down. 

Why do I say that? Hillary Clinton is sitting on pins and needles right now trying to run out the clock. Praying that nothing more damning is going to leak out of Wiki or the FBI before Tuesday. The mood of the country is starting to swing in Trump's direction. Hillary's shtick is wearing very thin with clear thinking people. Hillary is counting on enough Kool Aid drinkers remaining to push her over the top.

Actually, I could have named this article the Hillary Effect just as easily as the Trump Effect. How so? Hillary Clinton, through the magic of non-stop disclosures, has shown the world how rotten the apple really is. No more supposition or innuendo. We are seeing cold hard facts.

Donald Trump using the Trump Effect, knows why the corruption runs so deep in Hillary. The system allows it. In other words, "establishment" Washington is also corrupt. Hillary is a product of Washington. Of that corruption. She has just taken corruption to another level. 

Drain the swamp! Kick over the tables! Purge the corruption! Yes Mr. Trump, even if you come up short on Tuesday, you have started a fire. Well, maybe not started it, but you have certainly rekindled the embers burning within us. We must fix this mess! Donald Trump will eventually fade into the history books, but hopefully the Trump Effect will be with us for a long time.
