The War for Washington

"Donald Trump is a much different man than Ronald Reagan. However, they do have one very important thing in common. They were (are) both underestimated." 

I can't remember who said it. It might have been Glenn, it might have been Rush, it might have been some other pundit. Donald Trump won the election not by just beating Hillary - he won by beating the Washington establishment. And not only the establishment - the powerful (and very connected) MSM. He was David going up against Goliath. He was a single man, fighting an established system of corruption, which has been around for years. And he beat them!

Donald Trump is a much different man than Ronald Reagan. However, they do have one very important thing in common. They were (are) both underestimated. And when people underestimated Ronald Reagan, they did it at their own peril. Reagan made mincemeat out of his competition, and did it with a smile on his face. Trump has a different path - and he is a different man. He will change Washington so fast, most won't even know they are being changed.

Some of his promises will be partially fulfilled. ObamaCare will be heavily modified - too late to "pull it up by its roots". But the finished protect will look much, much better - and be affordable. The "wall" will never be built. We will however, have a much more robust monitoring system on the southern border. And "catch and release" will be a thing of the past.

I am convinced there is one thing that Trump promised which will endure no modification. And no backsliding. I am talking about changing Washington. "Draining the swamp". Thank God someone is going to do it. It is long overdue. And draining the swamp does not mean getting rid of only the Democrats - it means getting rid of the "establishment" (sorry Norm). Plus, getting rid of the biased press (which is just about all of them).

Young people who are majoring in history, please take note. You might be living through history right now. Washington as we know it, might be bye-bye - gone forever.

I don't give a rat's butt if you are a Republican or a Democrat, Washington must to change! It is a cesspool of "serving" and then making the transition to lobbying. And then to getting rich. It is corrupting. It is battery acid. It is ruining our country.

Donald Trump has seen Washington for what it is. And he knows it needs to be fixed. He has heard the voice of the people. He heard the voice others have ignored. He can, and will, fix this mess. It will be tough. It will hurt. But it will help.

Bring it on President Elect Trump. We elected you, and now we want you to deliver. Fix Washington in a way the Founders would be proud of. I think they might be tired of spinning in their graves.
