The longest three hours...

I could not imagine anything worse. You are at some kind of an entertainment venue. Gay, straight, it does not matter. It is close to closing time. You are getting ready to go home. You have felt safe all night, as everyone was searched prior to getting into the venue. All of a sudden, just minutes before you are getting ready to leave, all hell breaks loose. Gunfire is everywhere, bodies are falling, and blood is all over the floor.

For the next three hours, which really like seemed like three months, the carnage continued. After a sickening period of time, you realize your worst fears - help is not coming. The man in the strange looking vest, with the big long gun he kept reloading, was going to kill us all. Then you think - you have had a carry permit for years. But this is one of the many places which do not allow legal gun owners to carry in legal guns with a legal carry permit. So you left it home.

Then for three long hours, the killing goes on. The police? They have been warned off by DHS. The Islamist Terrorists are big on "follow on" attacks. In fact, the police might be the next targets. So they stood down until the right SWAT team was put together. That led to three hours of killing. With no weapons to protect on sight to protect yourself and others.

Where do we go from here? Is this going to be our new norm? Or are we going to allow our 2nd Amendment citizens to defend themselves? Time to wake up folks. Time to get real. If you are invited to a place that is a "gun free zone", be very careful. The gun free zones have become the new killing zones. If you don't believe it, ask the survivors in the Pulse. 

Pay attention to the news the next few days. Much will be learned. Time to get real. Time to wake up. We did not ask for this war, but this war is coming to us. Kick sand in the face of Uncle Sam?
