"It is run by a City Council made up of latter day Hippies and has a Mayor who is cut from the same clothe as Governor Moonbeam (not Mumbles, Moonbeam)."
I have said this on numerous occasions. I really feel sorry for the people who live in Minneapolis and are stuck there. I could not think of a worse place to be in Minnesota. Our City of Lakes has turned into some kind of weird alternate universe which is very different than the rest of the state (with the possible exception of St. Paul). It is run by a City Council made up of latter day Hippies and has a Mayor who is cut from the same clothe as Governor Moonbeam (not Mumbles, Moonbeam).
It seems our own Mayor Betsy is following in the footsteps of Bill de Blasio from the Big Apple. Bill de Blasio stepped in it big time shortly after he took the oath in NYC. He told his bi-racial sons to not be trustful of police. And that word got back to rank and file cops. And in every incident which involved the police and a citizen, de Blasio stood against his police forces.
The police union as well as many individual cops decided then this new Mayor was not worth the respect he should be getting. In fact, many turn their backs on him when the Mayor is present. It has been a rocky road since between the Mayor and the cops.
Mayor Betsy (who has no kids so she did not commit the same sin as de Blasio), is a true resident of Euphoria. Totally, and I mean totally out of touch with reality. The reality is simply this - the City of Minneapolis is rapidly changing. Crime is on the increase. Just in one night alone last week, five assaults were committed by a roaming group of thugs close to the University of Minnesota. And to top things off, groups like BLM have taken over the joint.
When the Lynx were playing the other night, they decided to put a BLM political statement on their warm-up togs. That was too much for five off duty cops who were at the Target Center for security purposes. So they left.
When the head of the police union defended his cops for what they did, Mayor Betsy immediately went to social media and called the police union president a "jackass". Way to go Betsy! Way to support the cops who each and every day put everything on the line to protect you and your fair city! Do you really want the rank and file to feel the same way about you as the NYC cops feel about de Blasio? Just keep it up!
Actually, when you look at how many (who voluntarily choose to live in Minneapolis) think right now, maybe Mayor Betsy is the right fit. I have said many times, as soon as you get on I-94 or I-35 and get inside those city limits, many feel like they are in a episode of Fringe. Like just they have entered a parallel universe.
If you don't believe me, and have not ventured into Minneapolis for a while, hop on I-94 and head into town. Then you can see and feel the trans-dimensional change I am talking about. That is however, if BLM does not have I-94 closed down again.
