Not even close to being qualified...

Now that the dust is settling, we can see the damage the storm left. Not the major blow we had last night - I am talking about the James Comey bombshell. Letting this digest for a while has been a good thing for me. I am starting to see the bloom on the rose rather than just all of the thorns. I am starting to think our FBI Director might have been dumb like a fox when he had his presser yesterday.

I remember hearing years ago it is far worse to leave someone badly wounded than to kill them outright. If Director Comey had passed on to the Justice Department a recommendation for indictment, it would have killed Clinton's campaign right there on the spot. And then Smokin' Joe Biden would have stepped in.

Instead Comey did something possibly even worse. He (in so many words) called her a nincompoop, a boob, an incompetent, and so forth. Again (to paraphrase), he said under her leadership, the State Department was run like a clown car.

What else have we learned about how this most transparent Administration in American history operates? Well for one thing, it was not only Hillary who kept e-mails off of official servers. Other cabinet officials were also doing it. Why? That way, no FOIA requests would be honored. If the "rabbit trail" of e-mails were present on official servers, the FOIA laws would take over. If the e-mails were absent on those servers, then it would just be "move along - nothing to see here."

If the Republicans were smart, if the Trump campaign were smart, they would make Hillary wear Comey's words around her ankle like a ball and chain - all the way to November. This has been a HUGE gift to the Republicans - absolutely huge. With Benghazi, she fell asleep and let four innocent Americans die. With her e-mails, she willfully disobeyed direct security protocol. In other words, she is as incompetent as she is dishonest. Her track record should disqualify her any elected position, right down to dogcatcher. 

But Hillary's only hope rests in her sheeple. The countless millions in this country who are products of our education system. Who are so clueless, so sound asleep, the damning evidence against Hillary does not matter does not matter to them. It is after all, just part of the "vast, right wing conspiracy". And besides, both Hillary and Bill care "about the children."
Gag me with a spoon.

There you have it. This is the story of the summer so far. Even though our corporate memory seems to get shorter all the time, this Very Angry Bird is going to keep this story front and center from now until November. Is Hillary qualified to be our next POTUS? Not even close to be qualified - for anything.
